SAALBACH – 270 KILOMETERS OF SKI ROUTES

Saalbach is a popular sport center situated in Lower Alps, nearby Salzburg. This picturesque village is directly connected to Hinterglemm, and with Leogang and Fieberbrunn forms an expanded ski complex called The Skicircus Circuit, which offers 270 kilometers of ski routes, making it an ideal place for skiers and snowboarders with its modern and thoughtful infrastructure.

Most of the ski lifts in Skicircus are chair lifts and gondolas, there are very few anchor-like lifts (which are so uncomfortable, by the way). The complex is open from 8:30 until 16:15; the night slopes are available, but only in Hinterglemm and Leogang. There are mainly blue (the easiest - 60%) and red (moderate - 35%) ski routes in Circuit, and only few black ones (difficult - 5%). The longest route of the complex is seven (!) kilometers long. Everyone can find something for himself/herself in Saalbach, because it offers ski routes for beginners as well as for advanced riders. There are many ski and snowboard renting shops anywhere in the Skicircus, where you can rent a good quality equipment. Moreover, there are many ski schools, if you haven’t tried snow sports yet or you want to improve your skill with a professional instructor. Most of the slopes are surrounded by trees which prevents the wind to swipe off the snow and makes the rides even more pleasurable. There are plenty of bars and restaurants decorated in traditional Alpen style, offering seats inside and outside, where you can contemplate on beautiful mountain views. The up-to-date ski route map for 2018/2019 season is available HERE.

The charming center of Saalbach is tiny, built upon one main street where many hotels, restaurants, bars and shops are situated. There are three ski lifts just few steps away from the center, so no ski buses are necessary. This is very convenient because everything you need is within your reach. You can buy ski passes in the ticket offices on the slopes, but they are also available at the reception desk in most hotels – you just have to ask. The up-to-date prices for 2019 season passes can be found HERE.
